Active agents: Aloe vera and hemp oil.
Aloe vera has been used for thousands of years for its curing effects. The use of this plant has spread worldwide. It is a popular herb in medicine and home remedies. The aloe vera gel promotes healing. It is applied externally, particularly to burns, minor wounds and abrasions. Once applied, it creates a moist film on the surface of the wound, which has anti-inflammatory effects, promotes the growth of fibroblasts, renews collagen, accelerates granulation, improves the intake of oxygen and nutrients to the tissue and restores the vascular supply faster. Aloe vera decreases the amount of dead tissue and stimulates cell regeneration.
Aloe vera contains carbohydrates, particularly pectin, hemicelluloses, glucomanans, acemanans and mannose derivatives. It further contains amino acids, lipids, sterols, tannins, enzymes, vitamins, minerals, and salicylic acid. The main active agent in aloe vera gel is acemanan, which is known for its anti-viral, anti-neoplastic effects and for its immune stimulating agent (induces macrophages, TNF-a and interleukins). Aloe vera has anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-mycosis and anti-oxidant effects.
Hemp oil is rich in unsaturated omega 6 and omega 3 fatty acids at a 3:1 ratio. Hemp oil contains approximately 80% essential fatty acids, for example, linoleic acid, alpha-linolenic, gama-linolenic and stearidonic acids. In terms of vitamins and minerals, hemp oil is particularly rich in Vitamins A, D and E, calcium, magnesium potassium and iron. Vitamin E is an important anti-oxidant, which protects the cell membranes from free radical damage. Another important agent contained in hemp oil is cannabidiol, which has anti-inflammatory effects.
Hemp oil has anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and regeneration effects. It moistens and nourishes the skin. It is particularly used to promote the healing of skin problems.
