ALAVIS™ CURENZYM Enzyme Therapy is the medical application of enzymes; the preparation contains a special mix of plant enzymes. ALAVIS™ CURENZYM Enzyme Therapy contains a special mix of plant enzymes. Plant enzymes, in comparison to animal enzymes, are more active and remain active over a wider pH range, which means that they are already active in the stomach, in contrast to animal enzymes which are not.

Enzymes are complex proteins which fulfil an important role in the body as biocatalysers – permitting and regulating all processes which are required in order for biochemical reactions to take place in the body. Natural enzymes, in contrast to other medicines, do not work on the symptoms or origins of a specific disease, but rather mobilise the immune system in order that the body can deal with the disease or its dangers as best it can on its own.

Enzymes: Bromelain, Papain, Peptidase, Pancreatin 4× Analogue, Protease, Rutin

Bromelain
Bromelain is a plant enzyme obtained from the stem of ripe pineapples (Ananas comosus). Its main effect is to block inflammation transmitters and reduce the migration of neutrophils to the place of inflammation. It helps break down proteins, reduce swelling and heal injuries, and it has effects on platelets. Bromelain also improves the absorption and effectiveness of other substances.

Papain
Papain is a plant enzyme obtained from the latex expelled by the papaya fruit (Carica papaya) on cutting through unripe fruit. It breaks down peptides and starches hydrolytically. It displays fibrinolytic properties (it dissolves blood clots) and radioprotective properties (it reduces the effect of ionising radiation on the body). Papain also has strong antibacterial properties.

Peptidase
Peptidase breaks down long peptides into short chains and then into separate amino acids. In breaking down peptides into amino acids, energy is produced which the body uses in recovery. Proteins, enzymes and hormones are made up of amino acids, which are also used to make neurotransmitters (used to carry nerve impulses) and affect cell growth.

Pancreatin 4× Analogue
Pancreatin 4× Analogue is an enzyme complex of vegetable origin (amylase, lipase and protease) whose properties are equivalent to animal-origin pancreatin (dissolves fats into glycerol and fatty acids, proteins into peptides and amino acids, starches into dextrins and sugars). Pancreatin 4× Analogue aids digestion, meaning food nutrients are absorbed better, meaning that good condition is achieved more quickly after an operation. Pancreatic enzymes have positive effects in the treatment of acute and chronic inflammation, including injuries and tendons. Recent clinical studies have demonstrated that pancreatic enzymes help dissolve immune complexes formed in autoimmune diseases, improve a patient’s clinical state and prolong life in cancer patients.

Protease
Protease disrupts bacterial biofilms and secretions which help bacteria adhere to host tissue, and also increases the concentration of antibiotic at the target location, increasing the effectiveness of the antibiotic treatment. It also boosts healing by removing dead or damaged tissue without affecting healthy tissue, and promotes blood and tissue activity in disorders of balance in the internal environment.

Rutin
Rutin (vitamin P) is a plant glycoside (flavonoid) and an antioxidant, meaning it displays anticarcinogenic properties and is able to eliminate free radicals. The antioxidant properties of rutin have been described in experiments on the degradation of collagen by free radicals, in which they displayed substantial protective properties. It is recommended for use particularly in strengthening blood vessel walls, where it reduces the fragility of the cell walls by increasing the quality of collagen fibres they are made up of. Rutin also has anti-inflammatory, antithrombotic and cytoprotective properties.

Method of use: The capsule can be opened and the contents mixed with a small amount of food. Give the preparation at least 30 minutes before a meal is provided.
